2016 POY Standings 2016 POY Points - Alphabetical 2016 POY Money List
The WMGC Player of the Year (POY) program recognizes members for achievement in two key areas:
The WMGC Player of the Year will be awarded each season and announced at the Fall Banquet.
For winning POY, the POY's tournament players membership dues will be waived for the following
tournament season. Every tournament playing member is eligible.
The winner will be determined by a point system. Points are earned in three ways:
1. Participating in Club events. One point is awarded for each event played. Events played are
defined as the 15 scheduled tournaments, individual and team match play, the net and gross
season long best ball contests, and WMGC Club participation in Cup play.
2. Performance points will be awarded to top 4 finishers in each event, no matter the number of participants
in that event. The number of points are as such; 4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd, and
1 point for 4th. Ties revert to sharing points. Example in match play, the semifinalists who do not win will
share 3rd place points since a match is not played to determine 3rd and 4th.
3. Bonus points will be awarded for participating in a majority of the events. As stated above you will
be awarded 1 POY point for each event played. If you play in 10 to 14 events you will be awarded an
additional 2 POY points. If you play in 15 or more events you will be awarded an additional 3 POY points.
To earn maximum points, a player should enter as many tournaments as possible. At the end of the year, the
points earned will be totaled for each player in the Club to determine Player of the Year.
Standings will be posted on the website and updated during the season. For questions concerning
the WMGC Player of the Year program, please contact any member of the Board.
