Calcutta Auction Rules for 2005 ABCD SCRAMBLE

 

 

1.         Teams will be auctioned by the assigned auction number.

 

2.         The minimum team bid for each team shall be $100 and bidding shall be in at least $10 increments.

 

3.         All cash bids are due and payable the night of the auction. In the event a buyer’s check does not clear, that buyer and the team he purchased shall be disqualified from the Calcutta.

 

4.         The prize breakdown is: 1st place - 40% of pool; 2nd place - 30% of pool; 3rd place - 20% of pool, 4th place – 10% of pool.  No payout will be made until all the checks clear and the results are final.

 

5.         In the event that a team is purchased by a non-team member, the team is allowed to purchase up to 50% of their own team from the high bidder. The team desiring to purchase 50% of the team must buy themselves the night of the auction. The Men’s Club will only pay the high bidder of any team that finishes in the money. The high bidder of a team finishing in the money is responsible for paying any co-owners of the team.

 

6.         In case of ties, for purposes of the Calcutta, all money will be divided equally. Ties for purposes of the tournament (gift certificates) will be determined, for first and last place only, in favor of the winner of the #1 handicap hole. If that hole is tied, #2 handicap hole will be used, etc.

 

7.         In case play is not completed, scores shall be determined by the total through the last hole completed by all teams.

 

8.         Each team is assigned a handicap based on combined totals as follows: 

 

A--player 20% of his handicap

B--player 15% of his handicap

C--player 10% of his handicap

D--player   5% of his handicap
